Welcome to the 2nd Western Pacific Naval Medicine Seminar Website

Naval medicine is a rapidly growing and specialised area of medicine. With only small number of professionals involved in this field in each WPNS nation, sharing of knowledge and information amongst these professionals is required in order to better protect the health of sailors and divers.

As such, the Western Pacific Naval Medicine Seminar (WPNMS) is held in conjunction with the Western Pacific Mine Countermeasure Exercise and Diving Exercise (MCMEX/DIVEX) series. The Royal Malaysian Navy shall be hosting this year's Naval Medicine Seminar in Lumut.

  • To follow up the developments and the improvements in the field of naval medicine in the world and their applications.
  • To discuss the issues on research and development programs in the field of naval medicine.
  • To discuss the issues of personnel, education, equipment and organisation in the field of naval medicine.
  • To establish a platform of medical collaboration between the naval medical institutions of WP countries.
